I have redesigned the label of an Australian classic, to a 130 million gallon jar of "Oljeforurensning” – a Fossil Fuel created by Equinor, a Norwegian Oil Company that has bought the permit to drill for oil in South Australia. It’s purpose is to provoke the minds of Australians by making a touchy and taboo subject, real and relatable.
A typographic exploration of the oil drilling industry, highlighting the ‘risk’ of this industries methods. The colour palette suggests an oil spill, complimented by a creative use of line, shape and pattern. This design works as a typeface as well as a graphic image.
Inspired by previous studies of 3D cubes and forms, I have created a 10x10x10 model of my interpretation of an oil spill. Presented in a 2D format, it's complimented by sharp graphics and saturated hues. This work showcases my sculptural and digital design skills, whilst also staying cohesive with the rest of the collection.
This 1950’s satirical advertisement is a graphic and typographic investigation into the destructive and out of date methods and motives of the fossil fuel industry. My interests in the impending environmental crisis lead me to raise funds at a Greenpeace call centre, sparking my passion and fury to create change through visual communication.
